I hope my pen finds you in the best of your state. Itââ¬â¢s been long since we exchanged letter. I am surprised if you have quitting smoking or not. If not I would request you to go through my letter and give a thought to modify your behavior for better health and life. Today I want to present factual evidence to support why this behavior is hurting your health. People around the world have made tobacco a lifestyle, though several countries have put restrictions as well as warning messages printed on the packing for tobacco usage and sales. Tobacco as everyone knows is a very harmful substance and sometimes it proves even life threatening. It contains nicotine which causes physical and psychological dependency. Usage of tobacco can lead to many serious health ailments. Some of them are as below: â⬠¢ Cancer: Tobacco smoking is one of the major causes of cancer deaths. Women, who smoke, are 26 times more likely to die because of lung cancer when compared to those who donââ¬â¢t have the habit. It causes increased risk of lung cancer, kidney cancer, cancer of larynx, head and neck, bladder cancer, cancer of the esophagus, cancer of pancreas and stomach cancer. According to studies usage of tobacco smoke, including secondhand smoker, has a relation with cervical cancer in women. It has also lead to increase in cases of leukemia, squamous cell Sino nasal cancer, liver cancer, and childhood cancers. â⬠¢ COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease): Compounds found in smoke (e.g carbon monoxide and cyanide) are believed to be responsible for pulmonary damage and loss of elasticity in the alveoli, which leads to emphysema and COPD â⬠¢ Cardiovascular disease: Tobacco smoking reduces ability to carry oxygen in blood.
